forward with TBM
After the need for a TBM approach is identified,
most hospital trusts would usually establish a cross-functional
project team often including finance, procurement, moving
& handling, tissue viability, senior nurse management, medical
physics and estates. This team would determine the
scope of the project such as total or partial bed replacement,
the type of equipment involved and the level of services required.
Their role would be to manage the key stages of the tendering
process including product and company evaluations, obtaining
feedback from end users and assessing completed tender documents.
Visiting other hospitals who have implemented TBM is also very
useful. This team would usually be responsible for determining
the performance indicators to help assess the on-going performance
of the contract.
